LAB (THEORY PRACTICED)

I wanted to try and make a cord regression in hookpad, and then try it out on the guitar. The first thing I realized was that I didn’t know a lot of guitar cords in the first place. Even though I couldn’t do much, it was helpful to find a good cord progression from what I did know. The main reason I did this was because I cant hear my guitar live (pugged in) because of my set up. hookpad allowed me to actually know what the cords would sound like recorded.

With your finger placement, you want to be as close to the fret as possible. This makes it easier to hold down the string. moreover, when you strum without a pick, you can use your thumb or pointer finger. The choice on which one to use is all about preference and style.

Jane McGonigal: The game that can give you 10 extra years of life.  (20 minutes)

Ten extra years? That’s a lot. I wonder if this could have the same benefits as medication like anti depressants. Would it be possible to play this game, strengthen your mind set, and gain tools to fight agents mental disorders? Well yeah, duh, she said that. Except would it be as effective? If it actually does then kids “struggling” with mental issues would have a better option to relief then medication. The game would be more fun and it will keep their personality’s from being changed. In the long run, it would give them tools to fight agent it, instead of relying on medication.

WHAT I LEARNED and PROBLEMS I SOLVED

Today there wasn’t really any problems. we solved the clicky sounds this morning, and I spent most of my time learning new cords. today I learned the C major, E minor (my favorite), A minor and major, G major, D major, and B and C# major. B and C 3 major are very difficult, but when I play them right they sound really cool.

TODAY’s ACTIVITY EVALUATION

Content (The WHAT)

Rating: OK  – 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – 5  – HIGHLY ENGAGED

Rating: 5 and up

What I really liked about today is the freedom. I was able to be more engaged and work harder because I got to chose what I wanted to work on.

Process (The HOW)

Rating: OK  – 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – 5  – HIGHLY ENGAGED

Rating: 4

I enjoyed playing guitar all day. That being said, I like Justin’s class because its its short, simple and understandable.
